NZGDC is a professional development festival for those working in creative technology and interactive media. This annual event showcases New Zealand’s digital technology and storytelling talents, including visual effects, film, television, video games, and augmented and virtual reality.
On the first day of the event, participants will attend master classes with experts from Unreal Engine, Script to Screen, the University of Canterbury, Universal Music, and Atawhai Interactive. August 18 and 19 will be devoted to presentations and panel discussions on a range of topics, including stories about the culture and indigenous peoples of New Zealand, technical art and mixed reality, the gaming industry, venture funding, and more. On August 20 there will be a Convergence Day where game developers, creative technologists, researchers, scientists, and students will meet professional film producers, directors, and screenwriters to discuss content creation through digital technologies, including virtual production and XP/mixed reality.
A 2-day conference ticket with access to the after-party is $340, a one-day conference ticket is $250, and a Convergence Day ticket is $160. Other ticket rates are available; check them out on the event website.
