Germany’s foreign intelligence service (BND) released an NFT collection and timed the event with a competition. The ultimate goal of the activity is to find and recruit blockchain talents.

Germany’s foreign intelligence service released the NFT collection Dogs of BND, inspired by service dogs. The German agency BTC-Echo was the technical partner of the project. The BND launched a blockchain challenge around the collection’s release. Participants need to find and get one of the tokens on their own, based on the hints.
The project aims to find blockchain talents, who are planned to be involved in the BND’s cybersecurity work in the future. What’s interesting is that people over the age of 13 are allowed to participate.
A total of 999 NFTs on Ethereum have been released as part of Dogs of BND. 987 of them are in the giveaway, with the remaining 12 being left by service representatives for later, more complex activities.
According to OpenSea, as of 12:30 p.m., June 22, 2023, 196 users have already been able to get tokens, but the system indicates that only 20% of them are unique. The minimum price of tokens at the start was 0.000001 ETH, but by the present time has grown to 0.05 ETH (~$100). The total volume of trades in the collection has already reached 1.2 ETH.
Recent research showed that NFT owners appreciate their aesthetics, and the most common motive to get tokens is the desire to “be unique and stand out.”
