Deutsche Börse Group, through its subsidiary, launched a settlement solution for over-the-counter (OTC) trading of digital assets, allowing institutional clients to trade without moving assets out of custodial storage.

Deutsche Börse Launches Institutional Solution for OTC Crypto Trading

Crypto Finance announced the launch of AnchorNote, a collateral settlement solution based on custodial storage of digital assets. The initiative is designed to increase capital efficiency, reduce risks, and enable institutional investors to trade across multiple venues while keeping their assets in regulated custody.

Crypto Finance is a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse Group, licensed to provide crypto trading and custody services by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) and Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).

AnchorNote is integrated with the BridgePort platform, which acts as an intermediary service provider and coordination layer, connecting clients directly to multiple trading venues. This architecture enables a full OTC settlement cycle, from collateral management to post-trade clearing.

Clients gain access to dedicated trading lines and the ability to quickly reallocate collateral across different counterparties. The system offers a user-friendly interface for fast onboarding as well as API integration for organizations with their own infrastructure.

According to Philipp E. Dettwiler, Head of Custody and Settlement at Crypto Finance, AnchorNote bridges the critical gap between custody and efficient capital usage, offering institutional clients real-time operations with a high level of security.

The solution is powered by Crypto Finance’s proven settlement engine and eliminates the need for pre-funding trades, minimizes counterparty risk, and provides instant access to leading trading venues. As noted by Nirup Ramalingam, CEO of BridgePort, the infrastructure built on AnchorNote creates a scalable asset mobility system highly demanded by institutional traders.

The initial rollout is planned in Switzerland, with subsequent expansion to European markets.

Deutsche Börse Group launched its custody and management service for BTC and ETH for institutional clients in March 2025.
