Ripple is launching instant cross-border payments powered by digital assets, enabling corporate clients to transfer funds instantly between Portugal and Brazil.

Instant Payments Now Available Between Portugal and Brazil

The company, a leading provider of FinTech infrastructure solutions, announced a partnership with Unicâmbio, a Portuguese foreign exchange operator. Under this collaboration, Unicâmbio will integrate Ripple Payments, a system that leverages digital assets to accelerate international transactions. This initiative aims to strengthen the payment corridor between Portugal and Brazil.

Through Ripple’s technology, Unicâmbio will enable corporate clients to process near-instant payments within minutes, significantly reducing transaction times and operational costs compared to traditional payment networks.

Cassie Craddock, Managing Director for the U.K. and Europe at Ripple, stated in the press release that the partnership with Unicâmbio marks a key milestone in Ripple’s European expansion. She also highlighted that Portugal has a well-established cryptocurrency ecosystem, which will benefit from Ripple’s innovative payment solutions.

This collaboration also reinforces Ripple’s footprint in Latin America, where the company already partners with Travelex Bank and Mercado Bitcoin, the region’s largest crypto exchange. Currently, Ripple Payments operates in over 90 markets, handling more than $70 billion in transaction volume. With over a decade of experience in digital asset infrastructure, Ripple holds more than 60 financial and crypto licenses across multiple jurisdictions worldwide.
