Investment inflows into crypto companies registered in Latin America grew nearly tenfold in 2021 compared to the previous year.
According to a Latin American Venture Capital Association (LAVCA) report, venture capital inflows to cryptocurrency and blockchain companies in the region totaled more than $653 million in 2021, compared to $68 billion a year earlier.
Among the services focused on the B2C segment, the largest investments received:
- Mercado Bitcoin — $290 million;
- Bitso — $250 million;
- Ripio — $50 million;
- Lemon Cash — $17.3 million.
Among the B2B segment, the biggest investments attracted the following:
- Liqi — $5.5 million;
- Gavea Marketplace — $5 million;
- Agrotoken — $5 million.
Another report by CB Insights estimates that on a global scale, blockchain startups will raise $25.2 billion in 2021, up 713% from a year earlier.
