KuCoin Expands Crypto Payment Capabilities in Brazil

KuCoin’s payment solution, KuCoin Pay, was integrated with PIX, Brazil’s national instant payment system. The initiative is designed to let local users convert Brazilian reais into over 50 cryptocurrencies and pay for everyday purchases using digital assets.

Crypto exchange KuCoin announced the launch of its KuCoin Pay solution in Brazil and its integration with the local state-operated PIX system. Thanks to this initiative, users in the country can now pay for goods and services with over 50 cryptocurrencies, which are instantly converted into Brazilian reais (BRL).

PIX was launched by Banco Central do Brasil in 2020 and quickly became the country’s primary digital payment tool. The instant payment system now serves more than 175 million local users.

Integrating KuCoin Pay with PIX allows for fast and simple conversion of crypto into local fiat currency and enables payments for goods and services via QR codes. Users can transfer funds from their KuCoin accounts directly to a Brazilian bank account or use the KuCoin wallet for fiat and crypto operations within the app.

According to the press release, around 26 million people in Brazil (~12% of the population) actively use cryptocurrencies. Brazil also accounts for nearly one-third of all crypto activity in Latin America. Chainalysis data shows that the country’s crypto transaction volume from July 2024 to June 2025 exceeded $318 billion.

Raymond Ngai, KuCoin Pay Lead, stated that the initiative aims to expand access to cryptocurrencies in Latin America and increase the practicality of using digital assets for everyday payments.

KuCoin Pay, the retail payment solution, was launched in early 2025 and allows merchants to accept online and offline payments worldwide using 54 cryptocurrencies.
