Platform for Loan Tokenization Launched on Avalanche

A blockchain-based platform built on Avalanche was launched to enable around 2,000 regional and community U.S. banks to buy, sell, and securitize loan portfolios with greater transparency and speed.

FIS and Intain Markets joined forces to launch blockchain platform Digital Liquidity Gateway, which provides banking institutions with access to asset securitization tools previously available only to the largest financial institutions. The system is designed to enhance transaction transparency and efficiency while expanding banks’ access to institutional capital.

FIS (Fidelity National Information Services, Inc.) is one of the world’s largest FinTech companies headquartered in the U.S. It specializes in developing tech solutions for banks, payment systems, and financial institutions, serving over 20,000 financial organizations worldwide, including major banks, payment providers, and investment funds.

Digital Liquidity Gateway connects about 2,000 American banks specializing in small business and commercial real estate lending with major investors. The platform integrates with FIS’s core banking systems and leverages AI-driven automation to streamline manual processes. This allows banks to manage loan portfolios faster and free up capital for new lending.

Previously, asset securitization required complex procedures for consolidating and selling loans to investors. Now, these operations are executed on the Avalanche blockchain, ensuring instant data verification and automated settlements. By late 2025, transactions processed through Digital Liquidity Gateway are expected to reach hundreds of millions of dollars.

According to John Omahen, Head of FIS Digital Assets, the launch of Digital Liquidity Gateway marks a fundamental shift in balance sheet management for regional banks. He emphasized that the integration with FIS, the transparency of Avalanche, and the automation from Intain Markets will open access to capital markets for thousands of banks, increasing lending volumes and strengthening local economies.

According to a large-scale RWA market study, the volume of tokenized private loans reached $14 billion in H1 2025.
