Metaverse Art Week 2022, which kicked off on August 24, offers everyone the opportunity to experience new ways of interacting with art. CoinsPaid Media took this chance to get a first-hand look at what’s happening in Decentraland.
As part of the third annual Metaverse Art Week digital art festival, taking place August 24-28 in the Decentraland metaverse, curators turned to new ways of using the digital space to form a more interactive and realistic experience of interacting with virtual art.
The exhibition is inspired by the Venice Biennale, which uses public space to display artworks. The festival visitors can walk through the halls and neighborhoods of the virtual city and interact with artists and brand representatives outside of the traditional gallery walls. CoinsPaid Media attended some events on the second day of Metaverse Art Week.
We started our journey with the Art Plaza Opening. In this space, you can read the exhibit explication, take a free audio tour of the immersive installations, and move to any open locations. The audio tour can be accessed by logging into Decentraland with your MetaMask crypto wallet.
On the first day of the event, the Artnet community held a panel discussion in their virtual district about new art horizons in the metaverse. On the second day, there were impromptu poetry readings by VV, CryptoWriters, and other members of the poetry community.
The DCL University Campus space hosted a virtual interactive tour of the MoCDA Digital Summer Show 2022. The exhibition included thirty works by artists from around the world. All installations are interactive and interact with viewers via click.
Each exhibition day at Metaverse Art Week features several interesting expositions at once. CoinsPaid Media editors believe that the most interesting shows will be the one by Louis Paul Caron on August 26, the second panel discussion held in Welcoming Area Auditorium by Artnet on August 27, and the unique interactive artwork Pop!Wall presented by Burton Morris on August 28. Pop!Club and the Dollhouse community will co-host a special party to close the art week.
