The Weeknd & Binance: World’s First Web 3.0 Tour

The tour’s main Web 3.0 element is an NFT collection. Its tokens can be exchanged for virtual ticket stubs.

Canadian singer The Weeknd announced his After Hours Til Dawn tour, with Binance and HXOUSE as technical partners. All tour attendees are promised an “enhanced fan experience” thanks to memorable NFTs. A collection of non-fungible tokens is being released exclusively for those attending The Weeknd’s concerts — the tokens will be redeemable for tickets once they are used.

Future sales of tokens from The Weeknd and Binance’s NFT collection will involve deducting 5% of each transaction amount to the XO fund, created by the musician and administered by the UN-operated World Food Program. Binance also plans to make a $2 million donation. The XO fund was created to help hungry people around the world.

The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour will debut in Toronto on July 8, 2022. The North American leg of the tour includes 16 performances in the U.S. and one in Vancouver, Canada. Dates and locations for international performances have not yet been announced.

The collaboration with The Weeknd is just part of the activity that Binance rolled out in late spring. Read more about the largest cryptocurrency ecosystem’s successes in our weekly digest.
