Sheetz, a convenience chain offering various consumer services, expanded its partnership with digital payment provider Flexa. This made it possible for customers of all Sheetz stores to pay with USDC and other popular cryptocurrencies.

According to the press release, the companies previously successfully tested the acceptance of crypto payments at select locations in response to growing demand for alternative payment methods. Now, cryptocurrency payments are available at over 750 Sheetz locations in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, and Maryland. This makes Sheetz one of the first major chains in the U.S. to support crypto payments.

Trevor Filter, Co-Founder of Flexa, noted that the demand for different uses of stablecoins continues to grow. He also said that the new technology integrates directly with Sheetz’s existing in-store point-of-sale systems, providing a smooth and fast checkout process.

In addition, the Flexa payment system is expected to integrate with Sheetz’s My Sheetz Rewardz loyalty program, allowing the retailer’s customers to receive rewards for purchases made in digital currency.

Crypto payments are becoming increasingly popular in a variety of areas. This year, the use of cryptocurrencies to accept payments from abroad as payment for goods and services increased significantly in Brazil.
