Chainlink Brings U.S. Stock Market Data On-Chain

The Chainlink team launched a new product that enables on-chain access to U.S. equity data five days a week, including outside standard exchange trading hours.
Chainlink, the world’s leading blockchain oracle provider, announced the launch of Chainlink 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams, a market data infrastructure that delivers near-continuous access to U.S. stock and ETF price data in an on-chain environment.
The new product expands the Chainlink Data Streams lineup and, for the first time, provides DeFi protocols and blockchain services with secure, continuous data for one of the world’s largest asset classes — the U.S. equity market, with a total cap of ~$80 trillion. The solution is already live across more than 40 blockchains and is designed to support blockchain-based products tied to U.S. equities, including perpetual derivatives, synthetic stocks, and other real-world asset products.
According to Chainlink, the main challenge for on-chain equity markets is the mismatch between the continuous nature of blockchains and the fragmented trading schedules of traditional stock exchanges. Most existing solutions are limited to a single price during the standard trading session from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET, creating pricing “blind spots,” increased liquidation risks, and difficulties in margin management outside trading hours. Chainlink 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams address these limitations by transforming market data into continuous, cryptographically signed Data Streams.
Chainlink 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams data includes:
- average asset price;
- bid and ask prices along with corresponding volumes;
- last traded price;
- quote freshness indicators;
- trading session status — regular, pre-market, post-market, or overnight trading.
This data set enables blockchain protocols to implement more accurate pricing logic, strengthen risk management mechanisms, and execute liquidations correctly at any time during trading.
The infrastructure is built on the Chainlink Data Standard, which, according to the company, facilitated over $27 trillion in transaction value, delivered more than 19 billion verified messages, and is used by approximately 70% of DeFi applications that rely on oracle data.
A number of major market participants are already using Chainlink 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams, including:
- Lighter, a decentralized derivatives exchange specializing in perpetual contracts and one of the largest by trading volume in this segment;
- BitMEX, a centralized crypto derivatives exchange and a pioneer of the perpetual futures market;
- ApeX, a decentralized derivatives trading platform offering perpetual futures;
- HelloTrade, a trading platform focused on on-chain derivatives and structured products;
- Decibel, an infrastructure provider for tokenized real-world asset and derivatives markets;
- Monaco, a blockchain platform for financial and trading applications, including derivatives markets;
- Opinion Labs, a developer of protocols for prediction markets and financial instruments;
- Orderly Network, an infrastructure protocol for on-chain spot and derivatives trading.
According to Vladimir Novakovski, Founder and CEO of Lighter, integrating Chainlink’s solution allows the exchange to expand equity derivatives trading beyond standard market hours without compromising data quality or security.
The launch of Chainlink 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams marks another step in Chainlink’s expansion into the tokenized asset (RWA) market, which could reach $30 trillion by 2034.
Previously, Chainlink Data Streams added pricing data for over 150 currency pairs and key precious metals from the ICE Consolidated Feed, while the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) enabled fast and efficient cross-chain settlement of tokenized securities between public and private blockchains.
