USDC and EURC to Be Integrated Into Deutsche Börse’s Infrastructure

Deutsche Börse Group and Circle signed a cooperation agreement to integrate the stablecoins EURC and USDC into the infrastructure of European financial markets.

Circle Internet Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Deutsche Börse Group, one of the world’s largest international exchange organizations. Under the agreement, EURC and USDC will be used within Deutsche Börse’s infrastructure. The initiative aims to integrate tokenized settlement instruments into the traditional financial system.

At the initial stage, the parties will focus on the listing and trading of stablecoins via the digital exchange 3DX and institutional provider Crypto Finance. In addition, the project includes custodial services through Clearstream, with digital asset storage provided by the German division of Crypto Finance acting as sub-custodian.

The cooperation was made possible thanks to the EU’s comprehensive crypto-asset regulation under the MiCA framework, which came into effect in 2024, as well as Circle’s status as the first global stablecoin issuer fully compliant with the new regulatory regime.

According to Jeremy Allaire, Co-Founder and CEO of Circle, the use of regulated stablecoins will reduce settlement risks, lower costs, and increase efficiency for banks, asset managers, and other market participants. Stephanie Eckermann, Member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse Group, responsible for Post-Trading, emphasized that the project will strengthen the competitiveness of European capital markets and mark a step toward creating a unified digital ecosystem that combines traditional and tokenized assets.

Earlier this year, Deutsche Börse launched collateral settlement solutions based on custodial digital asset storage through Crypto Finance, and Clearstream introduced an institutional service for the custody and management of digital assets using its infrastructure.
