Solution Created to Simplify Cross-Border Payments in China’s Tourism Sector

Worldline and YeePay entered into a strategic partnership to simplify cross-border payments in the airline industry and boost international tourism in China.
Worldline, a French multinational payment service, and YeePay, a Chinese payment company, signed a strategic agreement aimed at developing cross-border payments in China’s aviation and tourism industries.
The partnership combines Worldline’s global acquiring network and its expertise in European airline payments with YeePay’s local competencies in the Chinese tourism ecosystem. The joint solution will provide airlines and tour operators with:
- faster settlements;
- full compliance with Chinese and EU regulatory requirements;
- reduced operational costs.
Users of the Worldline Global Collect platform will gain access to simplified payment processes and an improved customer experience. For travelers, the new infrastructure will allow services to be paid for in familiar ways — via local cards, international payment systems, or digital wallets. This approach is designed to lower barriers for international travel and support the recovery of tourism in China, which has not yet returned to pre-COVID-19 levels.
YeePay processes about ¥3 trillion ($340 billion) in transactions annually. More than 5 million corporate clients from over 200 countries use the company’s services. YeePay supports payments in over 60 currencies.
Worldline’s annual revenue in 2024 amounted to approximately €4.6 billion.
According to a CoinsPaid report, 11.5% of travel agencies had already introduced cryptocurrency payments in 2024.
