Stablecoins Could Become Part of X’s Content Monetization System

Social network X is exploring the use of stablecoins to pay royalties to content creators and influencers.
The X team is in talks about using stablecoins to compensate content creators. According to a CoinDesk report, the company is holding consultations and considering various ways to use stablecoins for royalty payments.
One of the assets under consideration is Circle’s USDC. Using stablecoins would allow X to make cross-border payments to content creators without relying exclusively on traditional payment infrastructure.
X’s royalty program is designed to reward users for original content, including their own ideas, expert analysis, journalism, creative work, and commentary. The company hasn’t officially announced the final payment structure or a launch timeline for the new system.
The stablecoin payment discussions come as X overhauls its content monetization system. The platform is gradually phasing out its long-running Revenue Sharing program and moving creators to the new Original Content Rewards Program.
Stablecoins wouldn’t be a new payment experiment for Elon Musk’s companies. SpaceX already accepts cross-border payments from Starlink customers using stablecoins. After acquiring the social network and rebranding it, Musk said cryptocurrency support would be added to X. He also said developers had designed the system from the outset to allow digital assets to be integrated later.
