YouTube Allowed U.S. Creators to Receive Payouts in PYUSD Stablecoin

YouTube launched an option for American creators to receive rewards in the PayPal USD (PYUSD) stablecoin. The feature is integrated into the platform’s existing payout system and is already available.
YouTube introduced the ability for content creators to earn income in PayPal’s PYUSD, Fortune reports, citing May Zabaneh, PayPal’s VP of Product of the Blockchain, Crypto, and Digital Currencies. For now, the option is available only to users in the United States.
Zabaneh also emphasized that the integration is designed so that YouTube “doesn’t have to touch crypto,” reducing operational complexity for the platform. A Google representative confirmed the launch but declined to share additional details. Notably, in September 2025, PayPal became a key payment solutions provider for Google, including services such as Google Cloud, Google Ads, and Google Play.
According to Fortune, major tech companies are showing increasing interest in stablecoins amid expanding regulation and the rapid growth of digital assets. Stablecoins pegged to the U.S. dollar and other underlying assets gained broad recognition over the past year, especially after President Donald Trump signed legislation regulating such instruments.
PayPal remains one of the most active players in the crypto payments market. In 2023, the company introduced its own stablecoin, PYUSD, whose market cap approached $4 billion by late 2025, according to CoinGecko. The stablecoin is already integrated into PayPal and Venmo, supported in user wallets, and can be used for merchant payments. Moreover, in February 2025, PayPal launched a service enabling U.S. businesses to accept payments in more than 100 cryptocurrencies with conversion into PYUSD or fiat.
