eSports isn’t just about battles in popular games; it’s a world rich with diversity and unique disciplines. The EGB project embodies this idea by offering the chance to bet on eSports events, dive into the world of legendary games, and experience different competition formats. Let’s take a look at the unique disciplines and games available on the EGB platform.
Heroes of Might and Magic III
“This game is an absolute classic!” and “Heroes of Might and Magic III is an all-time crush” are some of the praises you’ll hear about this strategy game with RPG elements. Few games can boast such longevity and dedicated fanbase as Heroes of Might and Magic III. Released way back in 1999, this strategy game keeps winning the hearts of players, including loyal enthusiasts.
The game has several influencers who help expand its audience through regular streams on Twitch. Recently, the practice of hosting eSports tournaments with streamers has been gaining traction.
EGB has been observing Heroes of Might and Magic III for years, but it wasn’t until 2023 that the team ventured into sponsoring eSports events featuring the game. Last year saw more than 20 show matches, as well as the Battle of the Berserkers tournament with a $12,000 prize pool. This year, the Heroes Cup tournament was held with a $6,000 prize. The organization and coverage of the tournaments were handled by the studio HeroesHub, which invests most of the proceeds into promoting and popularizing the game.
“As a company with over 13 years in eSports, we see great potential in the game both as an eSports discipline and for betting. The matches are long and intense, but a small bet can heat up interest and ignite excitement. To make the betting lines interesting, we’ve trained several employees to understand the complex rules of the discipline and accurately assess the game situation,” said Alexander Nowak, PR Specialist at EGB. “Our plans include continuing to support the discipline. With more tournaments and show matches, the game’s audience will grow.”
Notably, the game’s audience is mature and financially stable. Most feedback on adding betting options and support from the bookmaker is either neutral or positive. Many are willing to place a bet to make the match even more thrilling, the EGB team observed.
Rethinking Card Battles with Hearthstone
Created by Blizzard, Hearthstone once stood at the pinnacle of its eSports success. However, over time, interest in the discipline began to wane, and even the developer lost interest in promoting the project. Despite this, the game still retains a large and loyal audience, with many streamers broadcasting their gameplay.
EGB cooperates with these streamers and supports them financially by giving viewers the opportunity to bet on matches. For some, this serves as a great incentive to boost interest in the game.
“We plan to help the discipline become more eSports-focused by holding our own tournaments. We’ve already discussed this multiple times with our partners. This year, we’re going to develop a plan for such events, prepare a team to handle it, and launch our first tournament,” said Alexander.
Ladder Matches
This is another unique direction of the project. At the moment, EGB is the largest company offering the opportunity to bet on streamer matches. Moderators follow ranked matches and take bets on their outcomes in real time.
This initiative was initially met with skepticism by some streamers. Many thought it might affect their gaming experience. But over time, they realized that such bets only increase interest in their streams and boost their popularity.
By supporting legendary games like Heroes of Might and Magic III and new competition formats, the EGB project is betting on the future of eSports.
