U.S. crypto investors believe they possess the necessary tool to become billionaires, viewing the cryptocurrency market as an opportunity to get rich quickly.
A survey by Harris Poll Thought Leadership Practice found that cryptocurrency investors in the U.S. still believe in the prospects of cryptocurrencies. About 70% of respondents think they can get rich with the help of crypto investing.
About 2,000 Americans of different ages and genders took part in the study. Despite the ongoing downturn in the crypto market and disappointing forecasts for the near future, crypto investors believe digital assets are a way to make money easily.
Most often, young crypto investors see themselves as billionaires. An earlier study by Alto found that American millennials view cryptocurrency as an investment for a comfortable old age.
So, “acquisitiveness” may be the main catalyst for the growing number of cryptocurrency users. By the way, analysts predict that about 13% of the world’s population will own cryptocurrencies in eight years.
Although this trend is favorable for the future development of the crypto market, the desire to get rich quickly leads to inexperienced users becoming easy prey for cybercriminals. For example, last year, scammers stole over $400 million in crypto by tricking naive users on social networks. Recently, one of the crypto community participants clearly demonstrated how eagerly inexperienced investors invest their money in dubious projects.
