The President of the Central African Republic (CAR) signed a decree to tokenize over 1,700 hectares of land. The sale of these assets will begin in June 2025, they can be purchased using the national digital currency CAR.

Faustin-Archange Touadéra, President of CAR, announced the signing of a special decree approving the tokenization of more than 1,700 hectares (4,200 acres) of land in the country.
The land parcel is located west of the village of Bosongo, approximately 45 kilometers from Bangui, the capital of CAR. The land will be tokenized in accordance with current legislation, including the law on the tokenization of resources and mining activities adopted by the government in 2023.
According to the president’s statement, starting from June 2025, these plots will be available online for purchase or lease in tokenized form. The national token CAR, issued on the Solana blockchain, will be used as the payment method.
“A new era of access and transparency begins,” said Touadéra. He emphasized that the main goals of the project are the development of the mining sector and attracting foreign investment. The signed decree states that the tokenized lands may potentially be used for gold, diamond, and other resource extraction.
The new decree is a logical continuation of the government’s initiative on tokenizing mineral resources, announced in 2022, and the Sango project, the continent’s first crypto investment hub.
