The Cardano Foundation is joining forces with Brazil’s largest oil and gas corporation in an educational initiative designed to train blockchain experts to explore the application of distributed ledger technology (DLT) in the energy sector.
The Cardano Foundation announced a partnership agreement with Petrobras, Brazil’s state-owned oil and gas company. As part of the partnership, Cardano experts will conduct a series of training workshops for Petrobras employees to increase their tech knowledge of DLT systems.
The initiative aims to provide an opportunity to explore the application of blockchain technology in the energy sector. The educational workshops will be streamed via the Cardano Academy educational platform. Petrobras plans to make the content available to over 40,000 of its employees.
The workshop program will cover the features of various blockchain applications and scenarios for using DLT, as well as interactive quizzes to reinforce the knowledge gained. The first 500 Cardano Academy students will receive unique NFTs, which will be developed as participants progress in their training. All Petrobras employees who complete the training will receive NFT certificates.
According to Frederick Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, the company’s partnership with one of the world’s largest public organizations will contribute to the popularization of blockchain technologies and may become the main driver for the study of new areas of DLT application, in particular, the potential of their use in the energy sector.
Not only representatives of the financial sector, but also historians, archaeologists, and space researchers are expressing interest in using blockchain. In India, blockchain technologies have already been successfully implemented in the business processes of the largest local oil company.
