ClearBank Joins Circle Payments Network

ClearBank announced its intention to join the Circle Payments Network (CPN), integrating its banking services with Circle’s platform and offering clients access to USDC and EURC stablecoins.
U.K. clearing bank ClearBank signed a strategic agreement with Circle Internet Group to connect its cloud-based banking platform with the Circle Payments Network. The initiative aims to build a technological foundation for fast and low-cost international transactions.
ClearBank will become one of the first European banks to connect to the Circle Payments Network. In the initial phase, the partnership will focus on expanding access to USDC and EURC via Circle Mint, enabling the bank’s European clients to perform near-instant cross-border settlements in stablecoins, fully compliant with MiCA regulations.
The collaboration will also allow financial institutions and FinTech companies to leverage regulated multi-currency solutions for payments, liquidity management, and treasury operations. Both companies are exploring joint projects in tokenised assets and stablecoin-based corporate treasury solutions, marking a step toward the next generation of financial services.
Mark Fairless, CEO of ClearBank, highlighted that joining the Circle Payments Network is a key milestone in strengthening ClearBank’s position as a leader in cross-border payments. He noted that the partnership combines ClearBank’s reliable banking infrastructure with Circle’s innovative digital solutions.
Sanja Kon, Circle’s VP of Partnerships and Business Development for EMEA, added that partnering with ClearBank will help expand the use of USDC and EURC in Europe, accelerate settlements, increase transparency, and lay the groundwork for new programmable money-based financial products.
