According to TikTok, cryptocurrencies and related themes are among the most popular topics on the platform. Users watched videos with hashtags such as #crypto, #bitcoin, #nft, #metaverse, #eth, and others about 115 billion times.
CoinGecko analysts examined TikTok’s statistics, finding that 15 hashtags on the social network related to cryptocurrencies racked up a total of 115 billion views. Such figures made cryptocurrencies the most popular financial topic on the platform.
TikTok users also actively share videos about cryptocurrencies:
- more than 4 million #crypto videos — over 30 billion views;
- 2 million #cryptocurrency videos — 10 billion views;
- 710,000 #cryptok videos 710,000 — over 2 billion views.
Among other popular hashtags related to crypto on TikTok, CoinGecko analysts highlighted:
- #bitcoin and #btc — 5 million videos with 28 billion views;
- #nft and #nfts — 2.5 million videos with 18 billion views;
- #eth and #ethereum — 1.81 million videos with 8 billion views;
- #metaverse — 0.35 million videos with 5 billion views.
Remarkably, more than 90% of users viewing crypto-related videos on TikTok are in Europe. The top 15 countries included only one non-European country — Morocco. So, the top five countries in terms of interest in crypto hashtags included:
- Estonia;
- Latvia;
- Norway;
- Belarus;
- Ukraine.
