The Animals Red List project’s community has chosen a motto that best draws attention to the issue of animal extinction: “Animals are non-fungible too.” Street art featuring this phrase appeared on a building in Tel Aviv.

NFT Project “Animals Red List” Shows Values Through Street Art

The aim of the Animals Red List NFT project is to attract attention to the problem of animal extinction through art and technology. The founders held a competition among community members to come up with a slogan that would best highlight the project’s issues.

Over 600 phrases were submitted, with the best one coming from a user named Ivan: “Animals are non-fungible too.” The winner received 500 TON (~$740).

The winning slogan was transformed into a large-scale piece of street art on a building in the heart of Tel Aviv. Its creator is Sergei Ovseikin, the artist who founded the Zukclub street art association and became world famous after creating the “Welcome to Krasnodar Territory” billboard in Sri Lanka.

The NFT collection, Animals Red List by Red Company, is a big project on the TON blockchain. The main mission is to draw attention to the problem of animal extinction and support environmental activities. Red Company representatives regularly donate a part of the project’s profits to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). They have transferred over $8,000 to the fund during the last three months. Moreover, within the Animals Red List project, some technical innovations have also been realized; for example, the real-world NFT record of changes was performed for the first time.
