Mark Zuckerberg announced the upcoming introduction of non-fungible tokens on Instagram.
Meta (ex-Facebook) founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said during a panel at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin that the introduction of NFTs to Instagram can be expected soon. He was quoted by Karissa Bell, senior editor at Engadget.
Zuckerberg didn’t give a specific date when we should expect implementation. But if Platformer editor Casey Newton is to be believed, Meta CEO has mentioned that Instagram users will be able to generate NFTs in the coming months. In January, the Financial Times reported that Meta was working on introducing non-fungible tokens to Facebook and Instagram. Users will display their NFTs on their profiles with a link to sources. Recall that Meta’s plans for 2022 included an increase in work on blockchain projects.
