The PhantaBear collection has dethroned Bored Ape Yacht Club on the OpenSea NFT marketplace in trading volume.
The PhantaBear NFT series is a collection of n non-fungible tokens by Ezek. The collection was released on the OpenSea platform with the support of the PHANTACi brand, co-founded by Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou. The artist’s media support ensured PhantaBear NFT a great success — all 10,000 tokens were sold out within 40 minutes on its debut, which took place on January 1. The cost per NFT was 0,26 ETH (~$1,000 at the time).
The daily trading volume exceeded that of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), according to OpenSea statistics. As of January 11, the minimum value per PhantaBear is 5,5 ETH (~$15,992). CryptoSlam! claims that PhantaBear NFT is also the leader in daily trading volume. However, it lags behind Doodles and Bored Ape Yacht Club by $810 and $320 respectively in terms of trading volume in the past seven days (at the time of writing this news). According to The Block, the total NFT trading volume as of January 11 was already $1,73 billion, of which $1,47 billion came from the OpenSea site.
