Polygon Adds Solana Support to Its Regulated Payment Infrastructure

Polygon expanded the capabilities of its Open Money Stack (OMS) payment platform by adding support for the Solana blockchain. Businesses operating on the network can now accept bank transfers, convert fiat currencies into stablecoins, move assets across blockchain networks, and withdraw funds through a unified infrastructure.

Polygon announced the integration of the Solana blockchain into its regulated payment infrastructure. The integration allows businesses to use Solana as their primary settlement network while accessing banking services, virtual accounts, cryptocurrency wallets, and cross-border transfer tools. Users don’t need to manually swap tokens or execute cross-chain transfers.

Polygon attributed the platform’s expansion to growing stablecoin transaction volumes within the Solana ecosystem. According to the company, quarterly stablecoin transaction volume on the network exceeds $2 trillion.

Following the Solana integration, Open Money Stack offers the following capabilities:

  • Payment Acceptance. Funding accounts through bank transfers, payment cards, cash, and cryptocurrencies.

  • Currency Conversion. Converting U.S. dollars into stablecoins on Solana and converting digital assets back into fiat currencies.

  • Fund Management. Creating customer accounts and using embedded cryptocurrency wallets with programmable transaction capabilities.

  • Cross-Chain Transfers. Moving and swapping digital assets across Solana, Polygon, TRON, and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible blockchain networks.

  • Withdrawals. Transferring funds to bank accounts and cards, sending assets to cryptocurrency wallets, or withdrawing cash.

To accept bank payments, OMS provides virtual accounts assigned to individual users or businesses. This allows incoming funds to be automatically attributed to the appropriate account holder. According to Polygon, the infrastructure for fiat deposits and withdrawals is supported by money transmitter licenses in 48 U.S. states.

One of the key features of the update is the ability to combine token swaps and transfers between different blockchain networks into a single transaction. The system supports 5 digital assets: USDC, USDT, PYUSD, SOL, and wSOL.

For example, a payment application can receive USDC from an Ethereum wallet and send SOL to a recipient on Solana. Transfers in the opposite direction are also supported. OMS handles the token swap and cross-chain transfer automatically, eliminating the need for users to interact with separate bridges.

Polygon also added Solana support to its embedded cryptocurrency wallets. Developers can now create and manage accounts on Solana through the same application programming interface (API) used for EVM-compatible blockchain networks.

The new capabilities primarily target fintech companies, payment applications, and trading platforms. For example, a service can accept a card payment, convert the funds into stablecoins, and send them to a recipient abroad. The recipient can then hold the cryptocurrency or withdraw the funds to a bank account. Businesses don’t have to use every OMS component. They can integrate individual platform features while retaining their existing wallets, accounting systems, and payment infrastructure.

Polygon said it plans to expand Open Money Stack support to additional blockchain networks, allowing developers to use a unified payment infrastructure regardless of their chosen network.

In February 2026, CryptoProcessing by CoinsPaid expanded its EVM infrastructure by integrating the Polygon blockchain and adding support for POL and USDC payments for corporate clients.
