Polygon Expands Regulated Payment Infrastructure Across 48 U.S. States

Polygon Labs expanded the capabilities of its Open Money Stack (OMS) payment platform by gaining access to regulated payment infrastructure covering 48 U.S. states. The expansion followed the completion of its acquisition of Coinme.
Polygon Labs, a developer of blockchain infrastructure and payment solutions, announced the expansion of its OMS platform through the integration of regulated payment infrastructure operated by U.S. cryptocurrency service provider Coinme. The completed acquisition allowed the company to bring fiat and stablecoin transactions, bank transfers, and cross-border settlements together within a single payment ecosystem.
Open Money Stack is Polygon’s payment platform that connects banking infrastructure, digital wallets, stablecoin transactions, and blockchain settlements through a single API. The platform was announced in January 2026, after which Polygon Labs began gradually rolling out its features and onboarding partners.
Following the Coinme acquisition, Polygon gained the ability to provide payment services in 48 U.S. states. The company holds money transmitter licenses (MTLs) in 37 states and can operate in another 11 under statutory exemptions without obtaining separate licenses. Coinme is also registered with the U.S. Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) as a money services business (MSB).
The Coinme integration expands OMS functionality, allowing payment providers to combine traditional banking operations with blockchain settlements through a unified infrastructure. The platform supports the full flow of funds, from account funding to payouts to end users.
Specifically, OMS offers the following capabilities:
Fiat deposits through bank transfers, payment cards, and cash deposits;
Conversion between fiat currencies and stablecoins;
Custody and management of funds in accounts and digital wallets;
Cross-chain transaction routing and 24/7 settlements;
Payouts through banking and local payment infrastructure.
Polygon Labs also named the first clients using the expanded OMS capabilities for international payments, account funding, payroll, and stablecoin transactions. They include:
Tazapay, a cross-border payment provider serving more than 1,000 businesses in 30 countries. The company uses OMS to convert stablecoins into local currencies and conduct international settlements with fewer intermediaries.
Mesh, a cryptocurrency payment network connecting more than 300 exchanges, financial services, and wallet providers. The company is integrating OMS to expand account funding and fiat-to-crypto conversion capabilities.
Toku, a payroll calculation and payment service operating in more than 100 countries. The company uses OMS to hold payroll funds in stablecoins and convert them into local currencies while meeting regulatory requirements.
Kira, a FinTech company providing access to U.S. bank accounts and international transfers. The company uses OMS to expand conversion capabilities between stablecoins and U.S. dollars.
The expansion of its regulated infrastructure allows Polygon Labs to offer payment companies a more comprehensive service model combining bank accounts, digital wallets, stablecoins, and international transfers. Payment providers will be able to use OMS to build payment products supporting fiat currencies and digital assets without requiring multiple separate integrations.
OMS infrastructure was previously used as part of Meta’s initiative to pay content creators in USDC. FinTech platform Stable.com also integrated OMS to enable stablecoin-funded bank transfers from noncustodial wallets.
