Meta Launches USDC Stablecoin Payouts for Content Creators

Meta began rolling out payouts to content creators in the USDC stablecoin on the Polygon blockchain. Pilot testing started in Colombia and the Philippines, with plans to scale the initiative to more than 160 jurisdictions.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, as well as messaging apps WhatsApp and Messenger, is moving part of its monetization system onto blockchain infrastructure. Content creators will be able to receive payments in USDC on the Polygon network.

In 2025, Meta paid out about $3 billion to creators across its various monetization programs.

The initiative aims to reduce transaction delays and simplify cross-border transfers, offering creators faster settlements and access to dollar-denominated assets. The integration relies on off-ramp service infrastructure available in over 150 countries, allowing users to convert digital assets into fiat currency.

Meta will use Polygon’s infrastructure for USDC payouts, while Open Money Stack will enable users in different countries not only to receive funds but also to quickly cash out into fiat or use them within the digital economy. The Polygon team also notes that the initiative expands access to financial tools and simplifies income management for creators worldwide.

At present, the service is available only to selected creators in Colombia and the Philippines, but it’s expected to roll out to users in more than 160 jurisdictions in the near future.

The use of stablecoins for creator payouts is gaining traction. Video platform Rumble pays rewards in USDT, while YouTube introduced the option for creators to receive earnings in the PYUSD stablecoin. Meanwhile, TikTok launched the Visa Creator Card debit card in the U.K., designed specifically for content creators.
