Visa and TikTok Launch Debit Card for Creators in U.K.

Nearly half of content creators in the United Kingdom face delayed payouts, a problem the new Visa debit card, designed for monetizing TikTok accounts, aims to solve.
Visa and TikTok announced the launch of the U.K.’s first Creator Card, a debit card designed specifically for content creators. The solution is intended to simplify access to earned funds and help bloggers manage their finances more effectively.
The new product targets the rapidly growing digital creator economy and addresses one of its key challenges, inconsistent cash flow. According to Visa, nearly half of U.K. content creators experience payment delays, while the vast majority seek to separate personal and business finances.
The Creator Card allows creators to receive earnings more quickly from TikTok LIVE streams, brand deals, and other revenue sources. During live streams, viewers send virtual gifts that are converted into in-app currency and then into real money. However, these payments are often irregular, making it harder to plan expenses and invest in growth.
Visa research shows that 86% of content projects are self-funded by creators. Meanwhile, 49% regularly face delayed payments, 41% are forced to pass on new opportunities due to a lack of working capital, and 37% report that financial instability causes stress.
The company estimates there are around 200 million content creators worldwide, with the market projected to reach $500 billion by 2027. At the same time, 85% of creators already earn income from their work, ranging from side hustles to as much as $100,000 per year. Most rely on multiple revenue streams, including:
- brand partnerships — 94%;
- affiliate programs — 78%;
- ongoing promotion of their own services — 77%.
With the launch of the new card and its accompanying account features, users will be able to access and manage their funds more quickly, without waiting for traditional bank clearing processes. According to the companies, this should improve creators’ financial stability and reduce reliance on personal bank accounts, which most bloggers currently use.
Visa emphasizes that the Creator Card launch is part of a broader strategy to recognize content creators as full-fledged entrepreneurs. TikTok, in turn, notes that the new card will help bloggers convert digital rewards into a more stable source of income and grow their businesses.
In November 2025, Visa introduced a pilot project enabling content creators, freelancers, and users of global marketplaces to receive payouts in USDC directly to crypto wallets.
