In March 2023, user activity on Polygon increased by 53%, making it the second-largest blockchain gaming network in the GameFi sector in terms of unique active wallets (UAW).

Polygon Is Second-Largest GameFi Blockchain

According to DappRadar on-chain analytics, the layer-2 blockchain network Polygon recorded 138,081 daily unique active wallets (dUAW) in March 2023, making it the second-largest gaming network after WAX.

The number of dUAWs of blockchain games on Polygon in March increased by 53% compared to the previous month. The reason behind the growth was the success of the Web3 adaptation of the mobile game Hunters On-Chain, which generated over 55,000 dUAWs on Polygon in March.

DappRadar reports that blockchain games collectively account for more than 45% of dApp activity in Q1 2023, although user activity for GameFi projects dropped. For example, the average daily number of unique active wallets connecting to GameFi apps in March was 741,567, down 3.33% from February 2023.

The number of active dApp users in 2022 grew by 50% primarily due to an increase in the number of blockchain gaming users.

WAX maintained its dominance in the sector, averaging 314,976 dUAWs in March. However, its performance fell by 8.11% compared to the previous month. The Hive network ranked third, losing more than a quarter of its user activity. According to DappRadar analysts, Hive’s decline resulted from the fact that users of the collectible card game Splinterlands generate 99% of activity on the blockchain.

Developers of decentralized apps on Polygon showed high activity in 2022. Due to their work, blockchain applications on Polygon offer high performance and low gas fees, and the new Polygon ID solution “solves the issue of digital trust.”
