Wyoming Implements Real-Time On-Chain Reserve Verification for FRNT Stablecoin

Chainlink’s Proof of Reserve technology will be used to verify the reserves backing Wyoming’s Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), providing verified on-chain reserve data in near real time.
The Wyoming Stable Token Commission is integrating Chainlink solutions into the infrastructure of FRNT, the first state-issued stable token in the U.S. Proof of Reserve will serve as the project’s exclusive blockchain-based system for verifying reserve assets.
The new system is intended to increase transparency around the token’s reserves and shorten the time between asset verification and the publication of reserve information. Once verification is complete, Proof of Reserve provides verified on-chain reserve data in near real time. At the same time, The Network Firm independently assesses FRNT reserves and the number of tokens issued in accordance with standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
The FRNT oversight model therefore includes several layers:
- independent verification of reserve assets and the amount of FRNT issued;
- delivery of verified on-chain reserve data through Proof of Reserve;
- daily publication of reserve attestations on the Commission’s website.
The Commission said this approach exceeds the federal requirements established by the GENIUS Act, which requires monthly disclosure of reserve composition and the amount of stable tokens in circulation. Month-end reporting must also undergo independent review.
Wyoming officials said monthly reporting isn’t sufficient for the digital asset market because it only reflects conditions on a specific date. An information gap regarding the current state of reserves can emerge between reports. Providing verified data through Proof of Reserve is intended to narrow this gap and give regulators, financial institutions, and other market participants more up-to-date information on the assets backing FRNT.
Wyoming Stable Token Commission Executive Director Anthony Apollo said the implementation of Chainlink technology is intended to provide verifiable confirmation that FRNT is fully backed by high-quality reserve assets and increase confidence in the state-issued token.
The next step will be the implementation of Secure Mint, another Chainlink solution. It provides for automated reserve verification before new FRNT tokens are issued:
- The system receives verified data on the amount of reserves.
- The amount of reserve assets is compared with the token’s total supply.
- New FRNT can be issued only if verified reserves equal or exceed the amount of tokens.
The mechanism is intended to reduce the risk of uncontrolled token issuance, including so-called infinite mint attacks. It will also make it possible to cryptographically verify that newly issued FRNT is backed by sufficient reserves.
A month earlier, the Commission also selected Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as the sole infrastructure for FRNT cross-chain operations.
Wyoming launched its stablecoin in August 2025, becoming the first U.S. state to implement such a project. FRNT became widely available to users in January 2026. According to data from the official portal, FRNT’s total market capitalization stood at just over $968,000 at the time of publication.
