Ripple Expands Institutional Digital Asset Custody Capabilities

Ripple announced an expansion of the functionality of its institutional custody solution, strengthening security, regulatory compliance, and introducing yield-generation mechanisms for digital asset holdings.
Ripple, one of the largest providers of institutional blockchain solutions, announced enhanced capabilities of its Ripple Custody digital asset storage service through partnerships with Securosys, a Swiss developer of hardware solutions for cryptographic key protection, and Figment, a provider of institutional staking infrastructure.
As part of its collaboration with Securosys, Ripple implemented support for CyberVault hardware security modules (HSM) and cloud-based HSM solutions, enabling organizations to self-custody cryptographic keys. These solutions are available both for on-premises deployment and cloud-based hosting, reducing implementation costs and eliminating traditional delays associated with procuring specialized hardware. Through its partnership with Securosys, Ripple Custody now supports a broad range of HSM providers, simplifying compliance with regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions.
The partnership with Figment enabled the integration of staking infrastructure into Ripple Custody as part of custodial workflows. Banks, custodians, and regulated companies can now offer clients participation in securing Proof-of-Stake blockchains, such as Ethereum and Solana, earning rewards without the need to deploy and maintain validator infrastructure themselves. The service is fully integrated into existing custodial processes and adheres to the same standards of security, governance, and compliance as core custody services.
The expansion of Ripple Custody’s functionality continues the company’s active development of its custody business. Previously, Ripple acquired the custody provider Palisade to integrate a full cycle of digital asset custody, trading, and management services in the United States. Ripple also launched Ripple Treasury, a unified platform for managing traditional and digital assets, built on GTreasury.
