Ripple Expands Educational Initiatives in APAC Region

Ripple announced the expansion of its global University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. As part of this expansion, Ripple is investing more than $5 million to support universities and academic programs aimed at training blockchain professionals and strengthening research activities in the region.

Specifically, the funds allocated under the UBRI program will be distributed as follows:

  1. Universities in Singapore will receive over $3 million. Grants will be awarded to Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) to train blockchain specialists and conduct in-depth research on AI systems and sustainable solutions.
  2. Approximately $1.3 million will be granted to universities in Australia and New Zealand, including the Australian National University (ANU) and Victoria University of Wellington.
  3. South Korea will receive $1.1 million in grants for Korea University and Yonsei University to support research and curriculum development.
  4. In Japan, Ripple will support two leading universities, Kyoto University and the University of Tokyo, providing about $0.5 million under UBRI for educational initiatives.
  5. In Taiwan, Ripple will fund studies on real asset tokenization and cross-chain interoperability among XRP Ledger, Ethereum, and Solana at the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST). Plans also include launching the XRPL Student Builders Club and an XRPL validator hosted by the university.

In total, Ripple will support 11 universities across the Asia-Pacific region through UBRI. This initiative is part of Ripple’s strategic global expansion and efforts to strengthen blockchain innovation internationally. Ripple is also actively expanding its presence in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Europe.
