In H1 2024, due to the efforts of the SOFTSWISS Anti-Fraud team, the company’s customers saved around €6 million. The risks of fraud in the iGaming ecosystem were reduced by a third year-on-year thanks to SOFTSWISS.
The Anti-Fraud team, part of Managed Services of SOFTSWISS, is responsible for improving the security of the iGaming ecosystem by offering the company’s customers high-quality protection of the operating environment. By using advanced tools and techniques for effective fraud prevention, the team helped SOFTSWISS customers save around €6 million this year.
In the first six months of 2024, the Anti-Fraud team at SOFTSWISS handled around 54,000 tasks, including operator inquiries, verification errors, fraud notifications, and responsible gaming violations. In total, the number of such requests decreased by 8.5% compared to H1 2023.
According to Ilya Nesterov, Anti-Fraud Team Lead, the most common types of scam in iGaming projects are bonus manipulation and player identity theft. These two types of fraud accounted for about 90% of all cases spotted by the team this year. Nesterov also noted that the number of requests from operators and fraud notifications significantly decreased, which, he believes, indicates more responsible behavior of iGaming users.
The number of complaints from players filed with regulators or through industry forums increased by 12.4% year-on-year. In the first six months of 2024, 118 such complaints were filed. However, the SOFTSWISS team helped operators to resolve all disputes — thanks to expert analysis, the company’s clients saved around €250,000.
The SOFTSWISS team also reported that they recently managed to implement an innovative risk assessment tool that allows them to identify potential problems in real time and take proactive measures to ensure a safe gaming experience.The SOFTSWISS team was recognized for their efforts in responsible gaming with an award at the SiGMA Africa Awards.
