The Telegram team introduced a new platform that allows mini application developers to earn Toncoin (TON) through advertising.
A new traffic monetization tool, Adsgram, developed by the TON community, was launched on Telegram. This tool allows mini apps to be integrated with an advertising system, enabling developers to earn revenue from ad displays.
Previously, mini app developers had to rely on direct ad sales, limiting their earnings. The new advertising platform aims to solve the monetization issues of GameFi applications on Telegram and within the TON ecosystem. Adsgram differs from the official advertising platform RevShare, launched on Telegram in March. The new tool offers a wide range of ad formats, including:
- 15-second videos;
- static banners;
- channel subscriptions.
Adsgram supports major ad payment models, including cost per thousand impressions or mille (CPM), and tracks metrics such as click-through rate, conversion, and fill rate. Developers can earn from 0.5 TON ($3.8) to 2 TON ($16) per thousand impressions, depending on the audience.
As of its launch, the Adsgram network already achieved 8 million impressions per day, according to data from May 2024. Mini apps like Gamee and Fonton Fantasy Football are featured on the platform, with a primary audience from Nigeria, Bangladesh, and Germany. Adsgram advertisers include major exchanges, games, TON-based services, and gambling projects.
In April of this year, Pavel Durov, Founder of Telegram, announced that the messenger’s developers are starting to integrate The Open Network (TON) blockchain. Telegram already features various Web3 capabilities, including the launch of SphereBot and a reward system for content creators.
