Crypto Payments Interface Integrated Into Telegram

TON Foundation introduced a set of tools for building payment mini apps in Telegram, enabling the acceptance of Toncoin and stablecoins through a unified interface.
TON Foundation, the developer of the The Open Network (TON) blockchain, announced the launch of TON Pay, a software development kit (SDK) designed to integrate crypto payments into Telegram Mini Apps. The solution is aimed at simplifying everyday transactions within the messenger’s ecosystem and is seen as the foundation of Telegram’s future payment infrastructure.
TON Pay is conceived as a universal payment layer for the Telegram ecosystem, allowing merchants and Mini App devs to accept crypto payments directly within the messenger. The solution isn’t tied to specific wallets and simplifies settlement management, payment flows, and infrastructure, lowering the barriers to using cryptocurrencies in everyday transactions.
TON Pay supports various digital assets, including Toncoin and USDT, and is designed for mass adoption. The system architecture is built to operate at Telegram’s global scale, with more than 1.1 billion monthly active users. Target performance metrics include near-instant transaction confirmation and an average fee below $0.01.
As part of its early access program, TON Foundation is selecting a limited number of partners to test the SDK in key segments, including:
- e-commerce platforms that can integrate crypto payments directly into online stores;
- service companies operating on pay-per-use and subscription models;
- content platforms focused on native monetization within Telegram.
The TON Pay roadmap also includes support for subscriptions, alternative withdrawal methods, regional fiat off-ramps, and business analytics tools. Moreover, the team is exploring partnerships with local providers in custodial services, compliance, and fiat conversion to align regulatory requirements with the decentralized principles of TON.
In 2025, Telegram and TON Foundation agreed on an exclusive partnership under which The Open Network’s blockchain infrastructure became the single technological foundation for implementing any Web3 solutions within the Telegram ecosystem.
