Phase Secures $45 Million in Founder Funding to Build the Operating Layer for the AI Agent Economy

SAN FRANCISCO, October 29, 2026 — Phase, a technology company building the operating layer for the AI agent economy, today announced the launch of its Layer 1 blockchain mainnet, backed by 45 million in funding from its founder, Kirill Eves, who also founded Unlimit, a global financial infrastructure company operating in more than 180 countries and processing over US$ 40 billion in payments annually. The blockchain provides the foundation for a comprehensive suite of services that give AI agents everything they need to function autonomously, from open web access and intelligent orchestration of leading AI models to distributed AI computing and payments. The infrastructure runs on a decentralized network of everyday devices that both secure the blockchain and supply connectivity and computing power for its AI services.

Unlike many blockchain networks that require dedicated servers and token staking, Phase allows anyone to secure the network using everyday devices, with no additional hardware or upfront investment. The rollout begins with smartphones, and joining the network is as simple as downloading the Phase app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Phase uses reputation-based consensus to reward reliable participation and randomly select validators, while verifying the authenticity of both devices and node software to prevent control from concentrating in the hands of a few powerful operators.

Phase Proxy launches with the mainnet to expand AI agents’ access to the open web. By routing requests through mobile and residential internet connections across its decentralized network, Phase enables AI agents to access websites that would otherwise block or restrict their requests. The service starts at 0.5 USDT for 1,000 requests and 1 GB of traffic, compared with an average entry-level price of over $5 per GB among mobile proxy providers.*

In November 2026, Phase will launch two additional services. Phase Router will give AI agents a single point of access to leading AI models, intelligently routing requests across them to optimize quality, performance, and cost. Phase Compute will harness the processing power of devices across the network to run open-weight AI models, providing decentralized AI inference for agents. Phase also plans to introduce its own AI model as the platform’s central intelligence, combining advanced reasoning with the ability to solve complex tasks independently and orchestrate other models.

Phase enables AI agents to transact on-chain using stablecoins or PHASE, the network’s native token. Its services operate on a pay-as-you-go basis, with support for the x402 payment standard and EVM-compatible smart contracts. Device owners will earn PHASE for validating blocks, with additional rewards for providing connectivity, inference, and compute, based on node uptime, network participation, and customer demand. Phase will generate revenue from its services and use a portion of it to purchase PHASE on the open market, distributing the tokens to node operators based on their contributions.
