In May 2024, several dozen major global and regional crypto events of various formats will take place, attracting participants from the Web3 industry, investors, representatives of government structures, and the cryptocurrency community.
To avoid overwhelming the overview of May events, the CP Media team has divided the material into two parts. The first half of May is scheduled to host 16 significant industry events — dates, locations, main themes, and other details are presented in this article.

Dubai FinTech Summit
Date: May 6–7.
Location: Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE.

An event dedicated to FinTech innovation. The organizers of DFS 2024 plan to attract leaders from the global financial technology sector to discuss the most pressing issues the industry faces. Among the experts scheduled to speak at the event are:
- Nik Storonsky, Co-Founder of Revolut;
- Alfonso Castillo, President and CEO of Banco Santander International;
- Yie-Hsin Hung, President and CEO of State Street Global Advisors, and others.
A total of 300 recognized experts and opinion leaders will deliver speeches and presentations on five stages over two days, and more than 200 innovative FinTech products will be on display. Over 8,000 C-level executives representing the financial sector from more than 100 countries are expected to attend the summit. Basically, Dubai FinTech Summit is a large-scale industry event that aims to solidify Dubai’s status as one of the centers of the global financial technology industry.
Fintech Jordan Conference
Date: May 8–9.
Location: The St. Regis Amman, Amman, Jordan.

Jordan is also committed to developing the FinTech industry and digital transformation of the financial sector. To this end, the country’s government is holding a large-scale conference for representatives of the regional financial technology market, which will be attended by executives from many international FinTech companies. The program includes an exhibition of financial products, exclusive interviews with industry leaders, panel discussions, presentations, and networking.
Crypto and Digital Assets Summit
Date: May 8–9.

An event that will be a platform for networking between leaders of the cryptocurrency industry, TradFi giants, politicians, and government regulators. The summit program features reports, presentations, and debates on the prospects of Bitcoin and crypto adoption, tokenization, use cases for blockchain technologies in traditional industries, and other topical issues related to digital assets and Web3 developments.
NFT Bucharest
Date: May 8–9.
Location: Bucharest, Romania.
Event Type: festival.
The most mysterious event among those planned for May. All we know is that it’s “Eastern Europe’s biggest NFT festival,” no more details. It’s likely that closer to the set date, the organizers will start to unveil the mystery. So, for anyone interested in the NFT market, it’s strongly recommended to keep an eye on updates on the NFT Bucharest website and social media.
The Global Trade Finance Expo
Date: May 9-10.
Location: JW Marriott Marquis, Dubai, UAE.
Event Type: exhibition.
The Global Trade Finance Expo is a major international exhibition of innovative financial products for global trade transactions. The event will also feature a number of panel discussions and expert presentations. Key topics include:
- digital assets;
- FinTech innovations;
- cross-border payments;
- risk management practices;
- compliance in international trade;
- prospects for the development of trade finance and others.

Bitcoin Asia
Date: May 9–10.

Hong Kong is vying for the status of a global cryptocurrency hub, hence many specialized events are held within its jurisdiction. The Bitcoin Asia conference is entirely dedicated to BTC, its ecosystem development, and the opportunities it opens up for businesses.
The event is rather large-scale. The largest companies and projects working in the Bitcoin ecosystem will be presented:

The event is entirely dedicated to tokenization, including the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA). Talks will be given by representatives from major global banks, trading platforms, and blockchain projects. While the summit isn’t entirely closed-door, it appears to be an event “for insiders,” featuring not only lectures, seminars, and training sessions but also exclusive parties for discussing one the main trends of 2024 in a relaxed atmosphere.
Solana Crossroads
Date: May 10–11.
Location: Hilton Bosphorus Conference Center, Istanbul, Turkey.

The event is officially titled as Solana’s Community Conference, which speaks for itself. The Solana blockchain project community is one of the largest and most active, so hosting such conferences is quite natural. Approximately 3,000 participants are expected to attend.
Among the planned activities are speeches by several prominent representatives of the cryptocurrency industry, including:

ETHBratislava
Date: May 10–11.
Location: Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies STU, Bratislava, Slovakia.

A big event for the Ethereum community, while not the largest of its kind, is definitely of interest to EU residents. Over the course of two days, discussions will cover topics such as Ethereum scalability, private transactions, and zk-SNARK, innovations in the DAO sphere, asset tokenization opportunities, stablecoin markets, staking and restaking spheres, and much more.
As part of ETHBratislava, a hackathon for developers will be held, with the main prize of $2,500. Moreover, promising projects will receive support from investors and mentors for further development. There’ll also be a competition of NFT works among artists. Everyone can take part in the planned activities, registration is available on the event website.
BitcoinDay Miami
Date: May 11.
Location: The Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College, Miami, USA.

An excellent event for anyone who’s already interested in BTC or has just become curious about it and wants to better understand what Bitcoin is, how it works, and what its value is. During the conference, both basic questions about the operation of the blockchain network of Bitcoin and more specialized topics, such as derivatives trading, risk management, using BTC in business, and others, will be discussed.
3i Africa Summit
Date: May 13–15.
Location: Accra International Conference Center, Accra, Ghana.

3i Africa Summit is a significant regional FinTech event. Africa is one of the regions where financial technologies are developing most actively, and the formation of technological and legal frameworks is happening right now. Such events provide an additional impetus for the development of the digital economy in the region.
The organizers of 3i Africa Summit expect to attract over 2,000 representatives of the FinTech industry from 80 countries, including heads of some of the largest African banks, senior government officials, investors, and businessmen. The summit will also include an exhibition of innovative financial products and technologies.
BCH Bliss 2024
Date: May 14–15.

An event for the Bitcoin Cash community dedicated to the upcoming Jessica update. The program features panel discussions, keynotes, and presentations. Among the announced topics:
- the state of the CashTokens ecosystem;
- CashScript smart contract language;
- development of DeFi projects in the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem and others.

The MEWS World B2B Summit
Date: May 14–17.

It’s a closed event. Organizers describe its format as a “B2B Boutique Event.” Access to the summit is by pre-registration only, with no over 200 participants planned.
MEWS stands for Metaverse Entertainment World Summit & Awards. The summit is aimed at top executives from major brands and corporations, institutional investors, prominent artists, and representatives of chosen startups. Among the topics are:
- future Web3, Web4, and Web5 opportunities;
- the best Metaverse projects and AR/MR/XR developments;
- crypto wallets and digital asset management;
- blockchain development;
- artificial intelligence;
- sustainable development technologies;
- intellectual property issues;
- non-fungible tokens, etc.
The summit features presentations and demonstrations of innovative products, roundtables, educational sessions, reports, speeches, and other formats of informational events.
Besides, the MEWS Awards, named “the Oscars of Web3” by the organizers, will be held within the summit. The gala will be broadcast by the TV5Monde network, which has an audience of over 500 million viewers. The ceremony is a more affordable event than the summit. DC Blockchain Summit 2024
Date: May 15.

A regional event dedicated to the development of the digital asset ecosystem in the United States. DC Blockchain Summit 2024 isn’t about scale but significance. The summit will bring together major government officials and reps from the corporate sector to discuss the most pressing issues that will drive innovation, stimulate the economic growth of the blockchain and digital asset sector, and keep the United States competitive in this area. The event is open to the public, and the price is $199.
CONF3RENCE 2024
Date: May 15–16.
Location: Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, Germany.
Event Type: conference and exhibition.
An event dedicated to blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and other areas of the Web3 industry. It’s the largest industry conference in Germany and the DACH region. In 2024, the organizers expect more than 6,000 visitors, about 100 exhibitors, and 350 speakers, including recognized experts, opinion leaders, heads of major tech and Web3 projects, European politicians, and other prominent figures. One of the key objectives of the conference is to forge links between the traditional economy and the Web3 industry.
Next Block Expo
Date: May 15–16.
Location: Multikino, Warsaw, Poland.
Event Type: festival and exhibition.
Another major European blockchain festival. Although it’s not as big as the previous one, it’s still of great interest to the Web3 industry. In particular, the festival guests will have access to an innovative AI app for organizing networking, a game zone with GameFi projects, an exhibition zone, a pitch arena for startups, and many events for socializing, including closed ones. Attending such events is a great way to establish new business contacts, communicate with colleagues and like-minded people, look at interesting innovative projects, and simply expand your understanding of the Web3 innovation sphere.
