In May 2024, several dozen major global and regional crypto events of various formats will take place, attracting participants from the Web3 industry, investors, representatives of government structures, and the cryptocurrency community.

To avoid overwhelming the overview of May events, the CP Media team has divided the material into two parts. The first half of May is scheduled to host 16 significant industry events — dates, locations, main themes, and other details are presented in this article.

An event dedicated to FinTech innovation. The organizers of DFS 2024 plan to attract leaders from the global financial technology sector to discuss the most pressing issues the industry faces. Among the experts scheduled to speak at the event are:

It’s likely that closer to the set date, the organizers will start to unveil the mystery. A big event for the Ethereum community, while not the largest of its kind, is definitely of interest to EU residents. Over the course of two days, discussions will cover topics such as Ethereum scalability, private transactions, and zk-SNARK, innovations in the DAO sphere, asset tokenization opportunities, stablecoin markets, staking and restaking spheres, and much more.

As part of ETHBratislava, a hackathon for developers will be held, with the main prize of $2,500. Moreover, promising projects will receive support from investors and mentors for further development. There’ll also be a competition of NFT works among artists. Everyone can take part in the planned activities, registration is available on the event website.

An excellent event for anyone who’s already interested in BTC or has just become curious about it and wants to better understand what Bitcoin is, how it works, and what its value is. 3i Africa Summit is a significant regional FinTech event. Africa is one of the regions where financial technologies are developing most actively, and the formation of technological and legal frameworks is happening right now. The organizers of 3i Africa Summit expect to attract over 2,000 representatives of the FinTech industry from 80 countries, including heads of some of the largest African banks, senior government officials, investors, and businessmen.   • future Web3, Web4, and Web5 opportunities;
  • the best Metaverse projects and AR/MR/XR developments;

  • sustainable development technologies;

An event dedicated to blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and other areas of the Web3 industry. It’s the largest industry conference in Germany and the DACH region. In 2024, the organizers expect more than 6,000 visitors, about 100 exhibitors, and 350 speakers, including recognized experts, opinion leaders, heads of major tech and Web3 projects, European politicians, and other prominent figures. One of the key objectives of the conference is to forge links between the traditional economy and the Web3 industry.

Another major European blockchain festival. Although it’s not as big as the previous one, it’s still of great interest to the Web3 industry. In particular, the festival guests will have access to an innovative AI app for organizing networking, a game zone with GameFi projects, an exhibition zone, a pitch arena for startups, and many events for socializing, including closed ones. Attending such events is a great way to establish new business contacts, communicate with colleagues and like-minded people, look at interesting innovative projects, and simply expand your understanding of the Web3 innovation sphere.
