The Brazilian authorities eventually plan to move all government administration to the blockchain.
Brazil launched a state blockchain network. The project’s leading participants are the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) and the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES). The authors hope that the transfer of public administration to blockchain will help better control budget expenditures and fight corruption.
The Brazilian Blockchain Network (RBB) is still under development. The first app based on it is planned to be launched in 2023. The RBB will be used in several public institutions to improve services offered to citizens and control the financial component.
Earlier, the president of the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) said that the digital real (CBDC) pilot project is planned to be rolled out in the second half of 2022. Later, it was reported that the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is working as a technical partner to develop the digital real.
