Brazilian residents will have an easier way to use cryptocurrencies for their everyday needs with the new Mastercard physical crypto card, for which Bybit opened pre-registration.
Crypto exchange Bybit, in partnership with payment network Mastercard, is launching a physical cryptocurrency debit card in Brazil that supports the Brazilian reais and six cryptocurrencies: BTC, ETH, XRP, USDT, USDC, and TON. Previously, only a virtual version of the crypto card was available, but Bybit announced the release of the physical card and opened pre-registration for it.
Among the bonuses of the physical crypto card are:
- free card issuance and delivery;
- no annual or monthly maintenance fees;
- 2% cashback in USDT, BTC, or ETH;
- up to 8% annual interest on deposits;
- access to a virtual card.
The exact release date for the physical card isn’t disclosed. A virtual card is required to create a physical one. All users who register for a virtual card by the end of 2024 will be eligible for a reward of 150 Brazilian reais upon meeting certain conditions.
It’s worth noting that just days ago, Banco Central do Brasil initiated public consultations on strengthening the oversight of virtual asset service providers.
