Cardano (ADA) developers have shared their plans for 2022.
Tim Harrison, Cardano’s Marketing and Communications Director, published an informative post on the company’s blog detailing all of the innovations planned for 2022.
Among the major network enhancements are:
- block size increase from 8KB to 72KB;
- pipelining;
- input endorsers.
Earlier, Charles Hoskinson, Cardano founder, had already announced plans to introduce the eUTXO model — improved technology for processing unspent balances on transactions. It has become known that enhancements will be made using the Plutus scripting language. The listed measures will increase the number of transactions per second and improve the distribution of stake and reward computations.
The improvements will also affect off-chain solutions, the most important of which is the introduction of sidechains. Thus, exchanging tokens with Ethereum-based blockchains will be possible, including Milkomeda and Mamba. In addition, Hydra and Mithril algorithms will be implemented. With these, part of the computation will take place outside the underlying network using asynchronous contract execution (ACE), but with data security preserved. Cardano’s new stage of development is called Basho, named after Matsuo Basho, a Japanese poet. Its main goals are to optimize performance, improve scalability and develop conditions for decentralized applications and DeFi services. The previous phases were also named after poets — George Gordon Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley.
