Over 700 new cryptocurrencies emerged in March 2022.
According to CoinMarketCap, 728 new cryptocurrencies started trading last month. The total number of cryptocurrencies increased by 4% in March. Moreover, 31 new crypto exchanges became available to users. In terms of this indicator, last month’s growth was 6.8%.
The crypto market cap increased by almost 15% and is approximately $2.16 trillion as of March 31, 2022, based on CoinMarketCap statistics to date and data from the service recorded by Wayback Machine.
Cryptocurrency market growth in March 2022 in numbers:
- The number of cryptocurrencies grew from 17.869 to 18.597.
- The number of exchanges rose from 458 to 489.
- The crypto market capitalization went from $1.859 trillion to $2.166 trillion.
By comparison, more than 8.000 new cryptocurrencies entered the market in 2021 and about 1.000 in January 2022 alone.
