Ahead of SBC Summit North America, CP Media talked to a spokesperson of the organizing company to find out more about the upcoming event and SBC’s plans for next year.

Dennis Algreen About SBC Summit North America

On the eve of SBC Summit North America in New Jersey, CP Media talked with Dennis Algreen, SBC’s Marketing Director.

— This isn’t the first time SBC Summit North America is taking place in New Jersey. What innovations can participants expect this year (speakers, topics, activities, etc.)?

— We’re excited to introduce our event app that uses the power of AI technology to facilitate networking. The app offers many benefits, but its most important feature is the selection of networking partners through artificial intelligence. This technology matches users based on their profiles and interests, helping to plan meetings in advance.

Moreover, we have a fantastic lineup of keynote speakers this year:

  1. Frank Abagnale, best-selling author, inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s “Catch Me If You Can,” and a world-renowned cybersecurity expert who will talk about simple strategies to prevent modern cybercriminals.
  2. Matt King, CEO of Fanatics Betting and Gaming, who will share his bold approach to building a team of experts outside the traditional industry framework.
  3. Barry Gibson, Chairman of Entain, who will talk about his company’s journey to success,
  4. Bill Miller, President and CEO of the American Gaming Association (AGA), who will talk about the five years since the federal PASPA bill was passed.

Many other industry leaders are expected to attend as well. We’ve also broadened the conference agenda to include a new segment exploring innovative technologies and new markets. We’re especially excited to highlight the potential of the iGaming sector, which has been somewhat overlooked compared to sports betting until now. In short, our visitors can definitely count on up-to-date and informative content. Plus, there will be three new categories at SBC Awards Summit North America, to be held at the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel. These categories will honor the exceptional contributions of tribal communities to the gaming industry.

— Do you have any new cities or countries planned for next year?

— Speaking of major events planned for the future, it’s worth mentioning our flagship SBC Summit Barcelona, scheduled for September. Last year’s event was a great success, so we expect an even bigger turnout this year — 10,000 participants from all over the world. And don’t forget about our SBC Summit Latinoamérica in Miami, which will take place in October and focus on the Latin American market.

Next year’s SBC Summit North America will return to the Meadowlands Exposition Center on May 7-9, 2024, to discuss new opportunities and challenges faced by the gaming industry in North America in a community of industry leaders. Casino professionals should put CasinoBeats Summit in Malta on their calendars scheduled for May 2024. It’s the perfect spot to network with gaming providers, operators, affiliates, and streamers and gain some solid industry knowledge. Canadian Gaming Summit also returns in 2024, taking place on June 18-20 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It’ll be dedicated to the gambling industry in Canada.

We should mention our legendary parties:

  • London Baby during ICE London;
  • Vegas Baby during G2E;
  • Malta Baby Party during SiGMA.

All of these events are already on the calendar. And to get a little competitive, we’ll have an SBC boxing championship in November 2024. There are also a few surprises planned that we can’t reveal yet, so stay tuned for updates on our website

— Networking is one of the main reasons people attend such events. Can you share any tips on how to get the most out of networking?

— As I’ve already mentioned, we’ve launched an AI-based matchmaking app that allows you to plan your networking in advance and get personalized meeting offers based on personal interests. So I recommend taking advantage of this cutting-edge tool and maximizing your time.

However, networking isn’t limited to communication. Our evening networking events are always fun and included in the tickets, so event guests only have to come and enjoy drinks while socializing within the industry community. For example, this year we chose some amazing venues in New York City for SBC Summit North America guests, including the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge at Moxy Times Square, Slate NY, and Versa. We believe in the power of networking and want our guests to have plenty of opportunities to form lasting relationships beyond the event.

Of course, we also have several networking events planned in the exhibit hall throughout the day: the Global Gaming Women breakfast, the Tribal Gaming meet-up, and the African Americans in Gaming meet-up. Therefore, all event guests are urged to check out the schedule and make a plan to attend. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on these valuable opportunities.

From the editors: SBC Summit North America is the leading online gaming and sports betting event in North America. It’ll be held for the fourth time in 2023. The summit will take place on May 9-11. The location is the Meadowlands Exposition Center, New Jersey. The organizers expect more than 3,500 delegates to attend this year’s conference. The event offers a comprehensive program of five stages and a conference devoted to player protection and compliance.
