The developers of the Japanese app LINE are considering options to add BTC, ETH and native token LINK (LN) as a means of payment.
The LINE super-app team has announced plans to introduce its own native LINK (LN) token as a means of payment on the platform. Testing of the new functionality will begin on March 16 and last until December 26, 2022. During this period, all transactions with LINK tokens will have no fees.
Also, in the future, the developers plan to integrate the possibility of transactions with BTC, ETH and other classic cryptocurrencies into the application. The project team intends to strengthen and develop partnerships with blockchain companies.
LINE is the largest app in Japan, which combines the functions of a messenger and the payment system LINE Pay. The app has a monthly audience of about 86 million users, or more than 70% of all Japanese residents. Over the past year, the LN token has gained almost 700% in value, according to CoinGecko.
