Number of Crypto ATMs Down for the First Time

In August, over 800 crypto ATMs were pulled off from the network. However, the number of Bitcoin ATMs recovered in September.
The situation in the cryptocurrency market also affected the Bitcoin ATM ecosystem. In August, cryptocurrency ATMs worldwide decreased by 807 units for the first time ever. This is evidenced by CoinATMRadar data.
During September, the number of new BTC ATMs began to increase again, so that by October 1, there were 206 more worldwide than a month earlier. The total amount of crypto ATMs globally stood at 38,187 by early October, 87% of which were installed in the United States.
CoinATMRadar data shows that as of October 3, an average of 12 Bitcoin ATMs are being installed around the world every day.
Genesis Coin is the undisputed leader among manufacturers, accounting for 40.3% of all crypto ATMs installed globally. Other major ATM providers include:
- General Bytes — 23.1%;
- BitAccess — 15%;
- Bitstop — 15.7%.
Recall that at the end of June, Market Research Future analysts published a study showing that the adoption rate of crypto ATMs has the potential to grow by 56.5% annually over the next eight years. At the same time, the number of crypto ATMs has grown so far only by 10% since early 2022.
