According to Forbes, nearly 30% of 65 “richest people in the world” are cryptocurrency investors.
According to a survey by Forbes, about a third of the 65 richest people in the world invest in cryptocurrency assets, with 18% of billionaires holding at least 1% of their wealth in crypto.
Most billionaires are interested in crypto-assets purely as an experiment. Four out of five billionaire crypto investors have invested less than 10% of their wealth in digital assets. Another 10% do not invest directly in cryptocurrency but invest in companies operating in the crypto market. And only 3.2% of billionaire respondents said they invested more than half of their fortune in cryptocurrency assets.
Forbes writers emphasize that among the wealthiest people in the world, a higher percentage is interested in cryptocurrency investments than among less wealthy people. For example, a Pew Research study conducted in late 2021 found that 16% of American adults have invested in crypto at some point, while an NBC News poll of 1,000 Americans published in late March 2022 found that 20% have invested, traded or used cryptocurrency.
Meanwhile, a study by Accenture found that in Asia, more than half of investors with a portfolio size of $100,000 to $1 million have already invested in cryptocurrency assets. According to Goldman Sachs, large insurance companies in the United States also show high interest in investing in cryptocurrencies. At the same time, ordinary investors trust NFTs more, as revealed by the researchers of Economist Impact. The number of digital currency users, in general, is growing very rapidly, with over 75% of major U.S. retailers planning to introduce cryptocurrencies as a means of payment within the next two years.
