In Q1 2022, 12,000 new dApps were created on the Polygon blockchain, and the total number of apps running on the network reached 19,000 in April of this year.
The layer 2 scaling protocol team for Ethereum Polygon released a report on its achievements in the first half of 2022. It shows that the number of dApps launched on the blockchain reached 19,000 in Q1 2022.
Analysts at Polygon stress that about 7,000 decentralized apps were running on the blockchain in January of this year, and in April, the number of dApps increased to 19,000. According to the report, more than 153,000 developers are working on Polygon’s smart contracts. Notably, development activity in the so-called Ethereum Killer networks has increased significantly in the run-up to Ethereum’s transition to PoS.
The project team also reports that the network processes an average of about 90 million transactions per month. These figures make the project one of the main competitors of Ethereum, which still dominates the Web 3.0 sphere.
Moreover, the report outlines future goals:
- development of “climate positive heading into the future” initiatives — the team plans to spend ~$400,000 to buy carbon credits.
- development of gas pedal programs to build blockchain-based DeFi apps;
- expanding the Polygon Academy tutorials and PolygonDAO community features.
