Cryptonews.net prepared a rating of 54 people most frequently mentioned in the crypto media in 2022. The rating is based on the analysis of more than 90,000 publications.

Top 54 Crypto Media People

The rating of crypto persons for 2022 was published. It includes 54 individuals whose names were most often mentioned in crypto news and articles. The rating concept is called Mighty Deck, so the number of people corresponds to the number of playing cards in a deck. The authors are the team of Cryptonews.net, the largest aggregator of news about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

The publications posted in the Crypto News mobile app during 2022 were used as a database for compiling the ranking. The software algorithm analyzed headlines and texts of over 90,000 publications, and the materials were further sorted manually.

The combination of the total number of mentions and the percentage of mentions in the context of the total number of participants in the final list was used to compose the rating. Thus, the number of mentions of a person in headlines and texts was estimated separately.

The authors also carried out an analysis of the number of mentions of people in comparison with 2021. Some interesting findings include the following:

  1. Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX, took first place, going up by nine points. Do Kwon, ex-Head of Terra, whose collapse had more significant economic consequences than FTX’s bankruptcy, jumped to fifth place. Should we elaborate on what exactly caused the popularity of these people in the media?
  2. Gary Gensler, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), is in ninth place. Jerome Powell, Chairman of the Federal Reserve System, is in eleventh place. They weren’t in the 2021 rankings. The appearance of U.S. regulators among the most public faces of the crypto industry is the result of a series of bankruptcies last year and a sign of increased attention to the market from the government.
  3. Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Tether, took the 22nd place. He was up 31 points, which is due to a particular focus on USDT’s stability, the largest stablecoin, amid market turbulence.

According to the creators, the rating aims to estimate the media influence of each person to analyze and predict the situation in the cryptocurrency market.
