Virtual land in The Sandbox metaverse next to Snoop’s property was sold for $458,000.
Snoop Dogg has neighbors in The Sandbox metaverse — virtual land next to the rapper’s site was sold via OpenSea for 70903 SAND (~$458,000 at the time of the sale). The artist congratulated the buyer on Twitter.
The Sandbox is still in the development stage, though it has already been launched for users. There you can be present as avatars, participate in virtual events, communicate, and create different items. Virtual land serves as one of the main assets.
In early December, 122 regular and 67 premium virtual plots were put up for auction in the rapper’s neighborhood, who repurchased the land in late September. The price amounts to 437,000 SAND or ~$2,38 million at the current exchange rate at 9 a.m. (GMT+2) on December 7.
In September, Snoop Dogg revealed on Twitter that he was hiding under the pseudonym Cozomo de’ Medici, whose NFT collection is estimated at $17 million.
