Visa is creating a new consulting division to help its customers understand the world of cryptocurrencies.
Visa’s crypto advisory division will help customers understand the use of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies for ordinary users, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and other customers, CNBC reported.
Possible questions include a wide range of cryptocurrency features, from integrating crypto services to learning about NFTs. The company is also developing products focused on CBDCs and stablecoins. Through this approach, Visa hopes to encourage more widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies and other forms of digital assets.
Visa is taking proactive steps to move beyond card payments. The advisory initiative is one step toward embracing the field of digital assets. Since October 2020, the company has processed more than $3,5 billion in crypto-related transactions, according to Nikola Plecas, Visa’s Crypto Business Lead Europe.
“Crypto for us is a huge new vertical and growth opportunity. And we will be continuing to focus on growing this business moving forward,” Plecas said.
